What is True Bounce Rate?

The True Bounce Rate (on Orbee) is the percentage of users that leave your website within twenty seconds of creating a new session. This number is calculated by the number of those who bounce from your site to the number of total visits.

True Bounce Rate may be critical to your marketing efforts, especially if a landing page is not working properly or if your users are not engaged with your website. True Bounce Rate also varies for different campaigns due to the nature of each campaign and we go over why this occurs in this article.

If you are wondering why there is such a high percentage for your True Bounce Rate, please take a look at "Why is my True Bounce Rate so high?"

Users who have completed a conversion are not counted under the bounce rate. This is due to the nature of a bounce, which has a tendency to have negativity behind it, we do not believe that conversions should be placed under a bounce count. If a user completes a conversion within the twenty seconds, it should not be placed under the bounce rate.
